AmaMbatha are a Zulu people living all over South Africa, but have their ancestry at Nhlazatshe KZN South Africaca. They trace their ancestry to Malandela,Jama,Shandu,Dunjwa,Khali,Mangcengeza,Mbhudlela etc. They fled Nhlazatshe after the death of Mbhudlela at the hands of Shaka, the King of the Zulu eldest son of Senzangakhona born out of wedlock to Nandi wase Langeni.Shaka was so afraid of Mbhudlela that he buried him esiGodlweni after killing him.Mbhudlela was short and strong, that,s why they say “wena Shandu awungakanani, nasentendeni yesandla uyenela”.
